Artistic Project Impact Grants Kansas City
Art's Inspired Network's vision has been to encourage, equip, and empower local artists and arts organizations to make an artistic impact in our community. Since our inception in 2013, we have worked to provide local inspiration and support through a variety of programs for local students and organizations. This grant is designed to support the operational and administrative costs required to implement new artistic projects in the Kansas City area. We work with individual artists and smaller arts organizations that are in need of community support to assist in helping their artistic project become a reality. We look forward to sharing throughout the year these impactful artistic projects that local artists and arts organizations are creating. We believe the arts impact us all and improve our society for the better.
AIN Artistic Impact Grant KC 2023-KC Dance Collective
- KCDC's goal is to produce professional dance productions that provide our local community an opportunity to see quality visual art that is engaging, entertaining and inclusive. Attending a dance concert can feel daunting for many reasons. KCDC wants to have a reputation of producing shows where the audience will feel welcome. We don't believe enjoying dance is just for people who "know" dance. Anyone can watch a performance. Currently KCDC dancers spend time developing, choreographing and rehearsing all on a volunteer basis. They do this because they are passionate about their art and looking for an opportunity to bring it to the community. Kansas City Dance Collective is that avenue for them to share their talents with an audience. The impact of our collective is for both the public and the artists.
MALICE & MASQUERADES | FALL 2023
KCDC's production of Malice & Masquerades featured their unique take on the classic, Phantom of the Opera, taking the story from the opera to the ballet with some creative twists.
AIN Artistic Impact Grant KC 2023-National Dance Week KC
- Arts Inspired Network is pleased to host National Dance Week Kansas City Community Performance in 2023. This year the performance was brought indoors to Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center in their black box theater. Dancers of all ages, disciplines, and levels joined together to present an afternoon of dance for the public. Art supplies were collected for AIN's PROJECT 51 Initiative - "Every Child Deserves to be Inspired in the Arts", to give back to local students in need. This event celebrated and cultivated the art of dance in the Kansas City area.
AIN Artistic Impact Grant KC 2022-Noble Film House
- Our first AIN Artistic Project Impact Grant KC 2022 was awarded to Noble Film House for their recent documentary entitled, "If You Only Knew My Father". With roots here in the Kansas City area with their arts development, this film was shown to over 2800 people in 28 locations including Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. This is about a filmmaker that sets out across the country asking strangers to delve into their relationship with their fathers forcing them to look inward to address any hurts that might be present. Noble House is a nonprofit production that uses their talents as Storytellers, Dreamers, and Builders to create honest stories that are committed to truth, art, and the church.
AIN Artistic Impact Grant KC 2022-National Dance Week KC
- Our second AIN Artistic Project Impact Grant KC 2022 was awarded to National Dance Week Kansas City, held at Ironwoods Park, Leawood, Kansas. Their mission is to expose and introduce as many people as possible to the enjoyment and benefits of dance through promoting dance in schools, expanding community awareness, and increasing professional development. Dancers of all ages, disciplines, and levels joined together to present a day of free dance performances for the public. Celebrating the joy of dance together, this event included dance studios to universities to professional companies and independent choreographers. Approximately 40 dance groups performed in the genres of ballet, pointe jazz, modern, tap, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, aerial, Pushpunjali, Latino, Egyptian, Mongolian, Irish Step, salsa, and bellydance.
AIN Artistic Impact Grant KC 2022-KC Jazz Dance Intensive
- Our third AIN Artistic Project Impact Grant KC 2022 was awarded to Kansas City Jazz Dance Intensive entitled "The Agency Experience". This was held at the Todd Bolender Center for Dance and Creativity in their state-of-the-art studios that host the Kansas City Ballet and the Kansas City Ballet School. In their 7th season, this 3-level intensive was for students ages 8-22 years. It was a welcoming empowering space for young dancers, where they could learn from industry greats from all over the world, as well as KC artists. Dancers trained, grew, and developed in small, personalized experiences. A dance experience that inspired, empowered, and developed artists.
AIN Artistic Impact Grant KC 2022-KC Dance Collective
- Our fourth AIN Artistic Project Impact Grant KC 2022 was awarded to Kansas City Dance Collective. This new non-profit dance company is located in Kansas City, Missouri, and has a goal to produce professional dance productions that provide our local community an opportunity to see quality visual art that is engaging, entertaining and inclusive. KCDC wants to have a reputation of producing shows where the audience will feel welcome and believe enjoying dance is not just for people who "know" dance. This family-friendly production in October, was filled with creative dancing characters and choreography. It was able to include 18 student performers who were given the opportunity to perform in a professional dance show. These students, ages 7-14 years old, came from 4 different dance studios. They were able to rehearse, perform, and make new friends and connections through participation. This production was held at Just Off Broadway Theater with a portion of all ticket sales going back to the Theater to support the local Kansas City artistic community.
